my why
Thank you for being here and getting curious about my story.
I am an ICF-certified executive, life and career coach in San Francisco with a practical, holistic approach. I originally started this work to share my passion for personal development with millennials who were deeply craving meaning and connection around 2010.
Living in the fast-paced innovation center of the universe - not too long after the economy collapsed - I realized how elusive living a fulfilled life can be; something we’re constantly chasing while watching the clock tick by. I was adamant not to accept that reality, and I know you feel the same way.
Life is too damn precious.
Along my journey, I discovered my natural propensity for guiding and holding space. I realized my life purpose and soul calling was to help in that deeper way; to empower others (and myself) to slow down, fully show up, and give attention to the extraordinary lives we have been given.
Raised by a neurologist and a nurse, I’ve always associated with healing, helping and the brain. Since I was a little girl people have told me I’m an empathetic, curious soul, and optimistic thinker who can see through the noise. The work of getting to the root and seeing possibility comes naturally to me, and I know is what I was born to do.
I call myself a Fulfillment Coach, a name that blends my life and practical career coaching experience with my commitment to living a full life. I believe my purpose is to guide people like you in accessing what lights you up, align your one life with values and presence, call out excuses lovingly, and help you reach your personal potential, make meaningful impact, and sustain more creative flow and joy.
As a certified life and career coach, healer, communications professional, Enneagram teacher, and life-long learner, I've found that fulfillment comes by making space, defining whys, unpacking fears, noticing blind-spots, practicing acceptance, and working closely with loving human beings to build resonance in the things that make our hearts sing.
In those moments time finally starts to slow down.
Ultimately, I believe that everyone deserves to feel seen, safe, appreciated, and blissfully alive. That is my mission for all of you every day.
commitment to inclusion
I am committed to inclusion and belonging in my practice, making sure every client who chooses to work with me feels comfortable and safe throughout each step of the coaching process. I promise to respect who you are today, and partner with you as you evolve into the person you long to become. I am also committed to my own path of healing, growth, learning and transformation as both a human being and professional, with my own mentor coaches, therapists and teachers in my corner - to help me reveal blindspots and become better every day.
get to know me
Since kicking off her business in the fall of 2015, Jenna has helped more than 700 individuals (over +3000 hours) imagine and create what a fulfilling life means to them.
Her passion to coach took shape years ago when she volunteered to be a sample client for a coach in training. She found herself deeply moved by the experience.
She felt gears deep inside that had desperately wanted to move begin to turn and found tremendous gratitude for the opportunity to be seen, heard and held emotionally, spiritually and intellectually.
It was then that that she knew life coaching was the connection and experience she had been searching for. So she took a risk and left her corporate career to begin her training to serve others.
Jenna Starkey is accredited by The International Coaching Federation (ICF) receiving her ACC and PCC with a certification in the Co-Active Coaching Model at The Coaches Training Institute. She is also trained by licensed clinical practitioners in using Cognitive Behavior Coaching (based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy, CBT, at mental health organization Lyra Health), and Fred Kofman’s Conscious Business work (as a certified Conscious Business Coach at career and leadership coaching organization BetterUp). She was recently invited to join the Advisory Board for a new Executive and Career Coaching Platform called Skye.
Jenna also works as a Career Coach with The Muse to help people strategize the job search, rewrite materials, and prepare and build confidence for interviews and career transitions. She also has been trained in the Enneagram (as a accredited Integrative Enneagram practitioner) after a lifetime of self study, having been introduced to the model at 10 years old by her mom where she grew up in Berkeley, CA (she’s a one-on-one “Enthusiastic Visionary” type 7). In addition, she has training in Design Thinking, Emotional Intelligence (EQ-i), and Human Design. Jenna graduated from the University of Oregon Journalism School in 2010 and studied abroad at the Copenhagen Business School.
Jenna regularly practices breathwork and meditation, and completed her 200hr yoga teacher training certification at The Grinning Yogi and Breathwork Healer Teacher Training with David Elliott and Erin Telford, which has transformed her coaching and inspired her to weave in a grounded, presence-focused and somatic expression to her work. She is currently enrolled in Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield’s two year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program affiliated with the Greater Good Science Center, to deepen her expertise as a practitioner and support her clients more fully.
On the side, Jenna volunteers as a coach for Washington Women in Need to provide women the opportunity to truly know themselves and set and take action on ambitious life goals.
Jenna meets with clients in-person on Mondays in San Francisco at a beautiful community of holistic women mental health professionals called HAVN Collective.
It’s clear she brings a bit of everything to her practice. And, while Jenna helps clients find the courage to leave unaligned jobs, begin courageous new projects and relationships, and ignite entirely new lives — she often falls in love with how creative and powerful each person can be.
